The prophet Amos, along with the prophets Hosea and Micah, conveys in no uncertain terms what God thinks about oppression, injustice, and neglect of the poor. The blunt language of these prophets can get our attention in a way that few other things can, and this study of Amos, Hosea, and Micah is a call for each of us to return to the ways of the Lord. Join Bob Sleeth, Jude Penland and Rosemary Robinson as we study the prophets Amos, Hosea and Micah. Cost for the course is $15.00. Payment can be made on September 23.

Understanding and Praying the Gospel
Tuesdays November 3 – December 8
1:30 P.M. and 7:30 P.M.
SLC
The four gospels are portraits not photographs. Each writer sees Jesus from a distinct perspective because of his unique experience of the Lord. We are no different. This course will study the different images of Jesus found in the four gospels and the consequences for living that follow from each image. Part of each session will be a prayer experience that follows from the discussion. This course will be offered in both the afternoon (1:30) and evening (7:30) so one can attend at a convenient time. Join Fr. Ray Allender for this six week series. Please let Rosemary Robinson know if you plan to attend.
Peanut Butter Outreach
Sunday, November 15
1:30 P.M.
On Sunday November 15, after the 10:30 AM Mass, join your fellow parishioners at the Spiritual life Center to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and then take a bag or two and hand them out to the hungry in our neighborhood. All ages are welcome; this is a service activity that even the very young can do. Our children can make small "valentines" to place in the bags to show that we care. Please fill the food collection barrel with peanut butter, and small toiletries (shampoo, soap, lotion, etc). Questions, ideas, suggestions, criticisms? Please contact Nancy Stretch (nastretch@yahoo.com)
Art Advent
Wednesday, December 2
7:00 P.M.
St Agnes Church
Give yourself a treat this Advent and attend Karen Kelly’s Advent workshop. This workshop is a pictorial presentation of the events and personalities in the story of Advent. Featured are the faith-filled women and men who prepared the way for the birth of Jesus. Inspired by scripture and the imaginations of countless artists, images of Joachim and Anne, Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth and Zachariah, John the Baptist and angel messengers have defined early Christian iconography and continue to serve in religious formation. Sacred art visualizes for us the people and traditions, practice and spirituality of a nascent Church. The art in this presentation extends an invitation to the viewer to consider how our lives are reflected in the journey of the early faithful as they prepare the way for Jesus.
